The International Baggage Reclaim area at Belfast International Airport has undergone a complete refurbishment in the form of new male, female and family restroom areas. Allied supplied and installed the Flow Toilet Cubicle System in addition to Wash Basins and Vanity Units as part of a total fit-out package.
The newly installed and spacious Flow cubicles are equipped to the highest possible standard and include a new flush system, meaning no more waiting for the cistern to refill. There are an ample number of washhand basins and six Dyson hand-dryers and soft lighting, all set off by impressive Terrazzo flooring.
The ladies toilets entered use with passengers off the easyJet Amsterdam the first to try out the amenities. By all accounts, they were impressed! Toilets in the Domestic Baggage Reclaim will get a similar ‘makeover’ as part of an overall refurbishment programme costing £2 million approx.
Joe McGuigan, Projects and Safeguarding Supervisor, said: “We’re undertaking the work causing as little disruption as possible. Our passengers will see a big difference with the clean, modern lines and ease of access for all.
“We’ve been particularly aware of the needs of disabled passengers which is why in these new state-of-the-art facilities, there’s ample room for wheelchair maneuverability and comfort. We want to improve the passenger experience, and these significant changes underline our commitment to that.
“The quality of the materials used and finishing are impressive – delivering a 4-star experience whenever you want to spend a penny!”
